We will not be having a 2018 show, but we look forward to seeing everyone again at our 2019 show. Please keep checking back for details.

Health Paper Requirements


To Check in you must have the following:
Health Papers (written within 30 days of show)
Registration Papers (Purebred and AOB only)

Show animals are required to have a State Certificate of Veterinary Inspection.
Inspection is to be done by a Certified Veterinarian within 30 days of the Show Date.

Show Day


  • Bedding is not provided by the Show.
  • Feed will be available for purchase on site from Rockingham Cooperative. Bedding will be available for purchase as well.
  • Frye Livestock Supply will be represented at the Show.
  • Food will be available for purchase from Rocky’s Bar-B-Que on site from Friday night through Sunday.

October 2019

  • Cattle may only be housed in the barns designated by the show committee only. No exhibitors may house or fit animals in any other buildings on the grounds unless pre-approval is obtained from the committee as a whole.
  • Animals are encouraged to be in the barn by 5:00pm Friday. Deadline for animals to be in the barn is 8:00am Saturday. If animals will not arrive until Saturday morning, please give as much advance notice as possible to either Kent Firestone at 560-603-0133, email kentpolo@vt.edu or Herk Williams at 540-460-6194.
  • Show begins with Showmanship at 10:00am.
  • Mid-Atlantic Junior Show starts immediately after completion of Showmanship.
  •  Junior Open Show: Start time is approximately one hour after conclusion of the Junior Show. Open to all ages.
  •  Once you have completed showing all classes you are welcome to head home.

October 2019

  • All cattle must be brought to the check in area to be checked in for the show. Failure to do this will not get your calf entered into show. Check in for the Jackpot Show will be on Saturday from 5pm until 8pm. All cattle must be on the grounds and checked in on Saturday by 8pm. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
  • Eastern States Jackpot Show Ring A–Start Time:  9:00am,  Ring B will begin one hour after the completion of the first division in Ring A.
  • Commercial Heifers will be shown by weight. Purebred heifers will be shown by age.
  • Steers are categorized  into two weight divisions: Prospect: up to 900 lbs and Market: 901 lbs and up.
  • Classes may be combined based on entries that actually show up.
  • Once you have completed showing all classes you are welcome to head home.

Ring A and ring B will be two separate shows Ring A will begin at 9:00 AM.  Ring B will begin one hour after the completion of the first division in Ring A. The purpose of two rings is to provide the opportunity for cattle to be shown in two separate shows  that creates the opportunity for exhibitors and animals to compete in two shows with different judges in one day.

Note:If there are a minimum of Ten Market Steers in Ring A and Ring B, the premiums will be increased to: Supreme Market Champion Steer —  $750 and Reserve Supreme Market Champion Steer – $375.
